About Us

The Molecular-Cellular Imaging Research Center is the first research center focused on the application of science and engineering in medical imaging, aiming to reveal molecular, functional, and structural changes in diseases. This center is affiliated with Tehran University of Medical Sciences and is located at Imam Khomeini Hospital Complex, one of the largest hospital complexes in the country.

The center was established in February 2011 with the overall goal of advancing imaging technologies, innovating and utilizing state-of-the-art methods, and designing and developing related equipment, while considering local requirements and contexts.

A key and noteworthy aspect of the center's establishment is the facilitation of close interaction and collaboration among experts from various fields, including science, engineering, medicine, and industry, in a shared research environment. This joint effort reflects the research policies of the center and serves as a driver for qualitative improvement. It also ensures compliance with local considerations and necessary standards for developing molecular-cellular imaging technologies.
