Medical Imaging Systems Group (MISG)

The Medical Imaging Systems Group (MISG) focuses on the following key activities:

Improving data and image correction methods.
Developing advanced modeling and simulation tools based on Monte Carlo techniques and analytical methods.
Quantitative and accurate analysis of medical imaging systems.
Exploring feasible designs and proposing innovative modifications in imaging system geometries.
Establishing novel approaches in medical imaging.
The group was founded with the aim of bringing together scientists, researchers, faculty members, and students to advance and develop medical imaging techniques. In addition, the group organizes regular workshops and journal clubs to educate specialists and researchers and enhance the knowledge and expertise of professionals in this field.

Expertise Areas
The MISG has extensive experience in various fields of medical imaging, including:

X-ray imaging: Radiology, mammography, fluoroscopy, and CT scans.
Nuclear medical imaging: Gamma cameras, SPECT, and PET imaging.
Hybrid imaging: SPECT-CT, PET-CT, and PET-MRI.
Ultrasound imaging.
The group aims to expand its activities further in these and other emerging areas of medical imaging in the future.
