Holding the First Surgical Procedures Workshop Using Simulators in the Country
For the first time in the country, a training workshop on surgical procedures using simulators (surgical simulation) was held in collaboration with the Advanced Medical Technologies and Equipment Research Institute at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, the Surgery Group, and the Academic Affairs Department of Imam Khomeini Hospital Complex.
According to the public relations office of the Advanced Medical Technologies and Equipment Research Institute, the workshop's inaugural ceremony was held on January 17, 2023. It was attended by Dr. Hossein Ghenaati, President of Tehran University of Medical Sciences; Dr. Mohammadreza Salehi, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Imam Khomeini Hospital Complex; and Dr. Mohammadtaghi Beigmohammadi, Dean of the School of Medicine. The event was hosted by Dr. Saeed Sarkar, President of the Advanced Medical Technologies and Equipment Research Institute, along with other directors and vice presidents of the institute.
Dr. Saeed Sarkar emphasized the importance of collaboration between clinical specialists and technologists at the center, noting that the institute's model of integrating research activities with clinical settings has attracted attention from peer institutions in other countries, including South Korea.
Dr. Sarkar highlighted the institute's achievements, stating that the center has produced over 50 US patents for innovative designs and products recognized globally. Additionally, 40 advanced devices have been developed and launched into the market, demonstrating the institute's significant contributions to the global arena.
He emphasized that technological advancements are a cornerstone of university progress and reiterated the institute's readiness to strengthen collaboration with university hospitals.
